Our story
2015
Our journey began with the groundbreaking work of Luc Van Renterghem, a textile and color engineer whose passion for understanding color led to a revolutionary breakthrough.
in April 2015, we unveiled the Color Cluster System, the result of 20 years of dedicated research into how the human brain processes and experiences color. Unlike traditional color systems, this patented innovation doesn’t just define colors based on scientific values; it also classifies them by style, type, and cultural context.
The Color Cluster System was internationally recognized as a major breakthrough in color science, earning a standing ovation at the annual congress of the International Color Consortium (ICC) in New Delhi.

2018
Color Passport brought several innovative products and software solutions to market, including ‘The Big One’, a comprehensive navigation tool built on the Color Cluster System. It featured 7,200 clustered colors with RGB and CMYK conversions, as well as CP Smart Match, a general color course, a chapter on color psychology, and a groundbreaking toolkit for professionals.
Around the same time, we launched ‘The Digital One’, an advanced software platform that brought the system to life digitally.
We introduced certified CP color trainings through the Color Passport Institute, with weekly sessions hosted at The Loop. As the system gained international traction, we began working with a range of global clients including Cedral, ICI Paris XL, EG, Associated Weavers, Albert Heijn, Bebat — all recognizing the strategic power of color in brand and product development.
To reflect our evolving vision and growing scope, we transitioned from Color Passport to Color Navigator, setting the stage for the next phase of our story.
2021
Color Navigator enters a collaboration with One Inch Whale, an award-winning research agency specializing in consumer behavior. Under the name Research & Visual Nudging, the fusion brings together Color Navigator’s expertise in the subconscious effect of color with One Inch Whale’s strength in data-driven market research.
The result is a scientifically grounded approach that helps brands predict which color choices will most likely drive consumer action. This unique collaboration allows clients, including both multinational brands and SMEs, to measure and optimize the impact of visual design on purchase decisions, marking a major step forward in the practical application of neuromarketing.

2023
In Q4 of 2023, iVisual launched as a new start-up to reflect our evolution from a service-focused company to a design-tech pioneer. A digital-first company built around innovation and data to scientifically underpin the visual identity, colors and design semantics of a brand, product or packaging and fully digitise this process. We launched successful projects for leading clients such as Alpro, Bose, Panasonic, Danone, Colruyt...
Two key players, Athena Graphics and One Inch Whale, step into the capital of iVisual. Their strategic investment marks a significant milestone in strengthening our full value chain and accelerating international growth.
